The equivalent of the printing plate for the screen printer is the silk screen - a wooden frame with a fine silk mesh (43T) stretched over it. The substrate to be printed is placed in position under the screen.
With a wooden handle measuring approximately 8cm x 3cm x width and an efficient rubber blade, a squeegees function is to drag ink across a silk screen in order to make a print. Rubber can be sharpened with a sharp blade or sandpaper
Lead Time for Silk Screens may extend to 3 weeks
