Interference Blue, part of the Luminescent Watercolors collection, is a transparent blue that refracts light (causes light to scatter). When glazed over dark colors or painted directly onto black paper, it’s cool and glimmering. When painted on white paper, it displays a subtle sheen.

Luminescent Watercolors are perfect for painting nature’s optical surprises – like the sparkling colors you see in bird feathers, insect bodies, fish scales and seashells. Many types of flowers have a pearly, dewy sheen. Consider the iridescence of a snail’s trail, a silvery spider’s web, a golden moon, clouds at sunset, icy snow and water reflections. Fantasy subjects like fairies, dragons and mermaids also have beautiful shimmering features.
